Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said that there are cases of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) worth Rs 233 billion in the Islamabad High Court but Chief Justice Athar Minallah has given the best suggestions.
Talking to media along with the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue in Islamabad, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that we appeared before the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court today and the atmosphere in which the Chief Justice held this meeting and the suggestions made. They are the best.
Referring to the FBR cases, he said that this is the money of the country and no one’s individual money, there are cases worth about Rs 233 billion in the Islamabad High Court.
He said that Chairman FBR has identified 13 cases which are of more importance as they have more money.
The Information Minister said that the matter was discussed with the Registrar of the High Court and the High Court regarding alternative proposals.
He said that Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah is one of the few senior judges of Pakistan, his attitude is a step towards the future prosperity of Pakistan, he has taken a big step.
He said that he hoped that other courts would follow the example of Islamabad High Court and we would move forward in these matters.
Talking to reporters, he said that the cases were not pending because of the Islamabad High Court but were due to technical issues and many cases were stuck due to technical issues of the FBR’s own lawyers.
Fawad Chaudhry said that it was necessary to discuss these issues. He had also said in the last cabinet meeting that there should be a forum where discussions could be held between the government and the judiciary to resolve the issues.
He said that the Chief Justice had provided the same forum today and many issues were discussed in it and Chairman FBR would definitely benefit from these suggestions which would come up today.
It may be recalled that Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had said in a press conference on February 15 that the cabinet had a long discussion with the judiciary on policy issues.

Fawad Chaudhry had said that the cabinet had suggested to the law minister to take up the matter with the judiciary and there should be a forum in which the judiciary, government and other institutions could work together to coordinate policy issues.
The Information Minister said that at present the judiciary is not in touch with the administration, as a result of which the country is facing a major crisis.
“We hope that the Chief Justice will come up with a serious point of view on this matter and the judiciary. We want such a seat to be created in which the major decisions, including the government and There is complete uniformity and uniformity in all other institutions.
